This was a perfect getaway for us and our 3 and 6 year old nephews. We fed the goats, collected chicken eggs, picked peas and lettuce, and went swimming at Sandy Knoll Beach and fishing at Silver Lake. Friendly host who was great with kids and gave us a nice tour and good recommendations. We would definitely come back!!

Everything was perfect – warm welcome, cozy cottage, fun farm animals, comfortable bed, nice amenities and peace and quiet. We’d love to go back!

We had a fantastic weekend at the paradise farm. It’s a very cozy 150 year old farm where the children can pet and feed the animals. When we arrived they gave as a great 2 hour welcome tour to show the farm, and it has everything to enjoy a great time (fireplace, games, walking trails etc.)

Great place!!!! Hospitality is out of the world!!!! Super clean! Loved the chickens and the baby kittens born two weeks ago!!!! Cannot wait to come back and see everyone and every animal again!!!!

Paradise Farm is as advertised: Paradise! Mary and Jim were super communicative and friendly, and the onsite caretaker, Kathe, introduced me to the animals and was happy to chat about the farm. The home is very comfortable, with a charming kitchen, super comfortable bed and all the amenities you could ever want. I would be happy to return, and highly recommend it!

What an amazing place. No kidding, this cabin was built in the 1800s and it’s full of modern amenities without sacrificing the old world charm: WiFi (we barely used), super hot water, a full kitchen (in a small space). We took advantage of the chores and fed the animals (collected eggs!) We also went to the local supper club (twice) and boy was that a great surprise. It was downtown Chicago quality food prep with authentic down home atmosphere. Locals only (who accepted us city folk). I can’t say enough. I’m definitely going back. Lots. And bringing more of my kids.
