Welcome to 1847, with all the comforts of modern life!

The Inn at Paradise Farm is an original 1847 log homestead in rural Wisconsin just a short drive from Milwaukee and close to many attractions, especially for nature lovers.  Our very spacious suite with loads of character is comfortable for couples, families, or business travelers who long to unwind in a pastoral setting. Visit with, and even help care for, our friendly animals!  We are a licensed, inspected facility.

SEE PHOTOS and CHECK AVAILABILITY by using the menu at the top of this page.

Our farmstay suite features a master bedroom with a queen size bed, an extra trundle bed (can be used as two twins or put them together for a queen), and a full size pull out sofa bed in the living room for additional sleeping space. You’ll also enjoy the kitchenette and private bath with a shower over tub. Enjoy the backyard patio with grill, picnic table and outdoor fire pit in the warmer months, and the indoor wood stove in the cooler months (firewood included.) There is a window A/C unit in the bedroom for the hot months.

One of our greatest pleasures is sharing Paradise Farm with our guests.  Come for a weekend retreat or plan on staying for the week!  You can help with animal chores if you like, or you can simply kick back and relax. Our caretaker lives on site, and looks forward to welcoming you and safeguarding your privacy. We hope to meet you on the paths or as we care for the animals and gardens.

Paradise Farm welcomes all. We value diversity of ancestry and nation of origin, gender identity and expression, age, ability, sexual orientation, and religion.

Wow! This was such a great find and a pleasant surprise. First, our host was so cordial in communication, and we got to say hello in person upon our arrival. Thanks, Mary! Secondly, our on-site host and farm caretaker was incredibly welcoming, kind, and generous with the space and her time (Thank you, Kathe!). The farm is beautiful – well-manicured with several vegetable and flower gardens – as well as fields and trails. The lodging itself is cozy and historic, but with all the modern conveniences (comfy bed! Cute bathroom! Fluffy towels! Adorable, functional kitchen!) that made it a thoughtfully-appointed, comfortable, spacious retreat to return to after family events and sightseeing. We also really appreciated the initial tour of the space, snacks, introductions to the animals, and the company of two sweet kitties and a baker’s dozen of adorable chickens! The ongoing touches – for example, fresh eggs and tomatoes left outside the door – were wonderful bonuses. We would absolutely stay here again – thanks so much! Molly & Jeff

Our family had a wonderful time at Paradise Farm! I only wish that we could’ve stayed longer than one night. I’m hoping that we can return soon. Kathe was a fantastic host! She was so welcoming and included us in many animal chores, which we loved to help with. The cabin was so charming and spotless. Thank you for sharing Paradise Farm with others!

Naomi L.

“Very quaint! Loved the chickens around the yard and walking trails. Also the wood burning stove was perfect for cold nights.”

Robert G.

“We loved our stay on the farm! The house is amazing. It has pretty much everything you’ll need in an historic building. Comfy beds, well supplied kitchen, decent shower, fluffy towels, fresh eggs from the chickens. And did I mention the goats? Mary was great to communicate with and Kathe, the on-site caretaker, was so welcoming. We’ll definitely go back.”

Deb W.

Mary delivered in every way to match the expectations I had from the photos and description of Paradise Farm. She answered my questions in a timely fashion and prepared me for the stay with accurate instructions and information. My son and I spent 3 nights while participating in the Wisconsin deer hunt each day. Kathe, the caretaker, was a wonderful host. We especially enjoyed the animals. The setting was quiet even though close to the metropolitan area with convenient access to Hwy 45. The farmhouse was spacious and comfortable. The timber and mortar construction and heritage style decor reminded me of my grandparents homes. The kitchenette was more than adequate for preparing simple meals. We had the wood stove burning each night to add comfort and character to our experience. Attention to detail was superb in the decor plus books, games, wrought iron hooks and square nails placed in the entry, bath and kitchen for towels, clothes etc. The beds were comfortable and the bedroom spacious. Paradise Farm gave us a fantastic and relaxing experience for the weekend. It was our perfect hunting camp. We look forward to returning.

The best stay you could ever book. If you’re looking for a great location that isn’t too isolated but just enough to relax and enjoy being in the outdoors, this is the place. The 172 year old (yes 172) homestead is in amazing condition with your essential needs of this day (WiFi, electricity). Clean wooden floors (I’m a no-shoes inside person so this made me happy), a sparkling clean bathroom and kitchen, and a wood fireplace to add to the ambiance. Oh, and the water comes straight from the well so it’ll be one of the cleanest waters you’ll ever drink (slightly sweet in my opinion!) The farm itself is so welcoming (literally the cute chickens run up to you and follow you around the property). Already planning to go back for another stay soon!

Mike S.

45 minutes away from Milwaukee transports you to a world away. It felt like we had driven much further away to a far more secluded place without driving 3 hours! Not far from the exit ramp, we were transported to winding, hilly roads, dense forest, hiking trails, and a fantastic setting. The farm is charming! Kathe is a warm and welcoming host. The animals… oh the animals… friendly and simply amusing. Atomic Blonde (the chicken) our favorite… or was it Sawyer the cat… or Maisey the sheep… or both of the pygmy goats? Luckily, we did not have to choose. Great short hiking trails on the farm or a short ride to the Ice Age Trail. The house is well appointed. Great towels and sheets. Comfy quilts. Nothing kitchy here. Comfort and quality rule the day. Plenty of fire wood. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook our farm fresh eggs for breakfast. Great organic grocer in Slinger. We will be back for certain!

Donna W.

The farm house is amazing! Such a historic, cozy and calm place. We wanted to get away from the city and stay in nature and were so happy with what we found. We arrived for the most amazing marshmallow- whipped cream winter weekend. Hiking the Ice Age Trail was great as much as lighting a fire in the stove at night. We genuinely enjoyed the fresh farm eggs and saying hi to the sheep and goats. The communication with Mary was excellent and Kathe who lives on the premises in another house took great care of us. If you want to enjoy some hygge, peace and calm go here

Frances W.

An amazing experience — feels like stepping back in time. Loved all of the animals and learning about the history of the cabin. We will be back for a longer stay!

Catherine S.

Staying at Paradise Farm made for a perfect romantic winter countryside escape. The farmhouse is incredible – rustic, super cozy, and very clean with plenty of thoughtful touches. Especially loved the fireplace. We enjoyed the area and all the great supper clubs and beautiful scenery. Will definitely be visiting again.

Elizabeth and Mike G.

This is a charming historic log cabin seemingly located in a remote area, but actually right next to the metropolis of West Bend! The owners and caretaker are very nice and responsive and have thought of all the details, including fresh eggs! If you want a quiet getaway, that actually isn’t too far away, this is the perfect place for you!

Will H.

What an amazing place. No kidding, this cabin was built in the 1800s and it’s full of modern amenities without sacrificing the old world charm: WiFi (we barely used), super hot water, a full kitchen (in a small space). We took advantage of the chores and fed the animals (collected eggs!) We also went to the local supper club (twice) and boy was that a great surprise. It was downtown Chicago quality food prep with authentic down home atmosphere. Locals only (who accepted us city folk). I can’t say enough. I’m definitely going back. Lots. And bringing more of my kids.

Jeffrey C.

Paradise Farm is as advertised: Paradise! Mary and Jim were super communicative and friendly, and the onsite caretaker, Kathe, introduced me to the animals and was happy to chat about the farm. The home is very comfortable, with a charming kitchen, super comfortable bed and all the amenities you could ever want. I would be happy to return, and highly recommend it!

Monica W.

Great place!!!! Hospitality is out of the world!!!! Super clean! Loved the chickens and the baby kittens born two weeks ago!!!! Cannot wait to come back and see everyone and every animal again!!!!

Colleen B.

We had a fantastic weekend at the paradise farm. It’s a very cozy 150 year old farm where the children can pet and feed the animals. When we arrived they gave as a great 2 hour welcome tour to show the farm, and it has everything to enjoy a great time (fireplace, games, walking trails etc.)

Marco S.

What a great experience! Classic Wisconsin hospitality and a priceless farm getaway! We are always looking for great farm Air Bnb stays and have tried many throughout the US. This one has topped them All and created a hospitality watermark for us as hosts. Can’t wait to go back visit again!

Dale and Katy S.

We had an amazing time at Paradise Farm. Kathe was an incredible host. We were able to enjoy some much needed down time. Our son loved the animals and we would most certainly recommend this place to others.

Nate A.

Great place. Amazing host. Perfect for a quick getaway.

Mike W.

This place is fantastic! Our family greatly enjoyed our stay at Paradise Farm. A wonderful check-in and a beautiful stay! It was awesome for our girls to be able to attend Paradise Farm School as well. I highly recommend this stay!

Tabitha P.

Everything was perfect – warm welcome, cozy cottage, fun farm animals, comfortable bed, nice amenities and peace and quiet. We’d love to go back!

Adrienne S.

This was a perfect getaway for us and our 3 and 6 year old nephews. We fed the goats, collected chicken eggs, picked peas and lettuce, and went swimming at Sandy Knoll Beach and fishing at Silver Lake. Friendly host who was great with kids and gave us a nice tour and good recommendations. We would definitely come back!!

Carolyn P.

After months of isolation in the city this farmhouse was EXACTLY what we needed. The home and grounds are incredible. So charming, so full of history and incredibly clean. Mary and Kathe were so attentive and responsive. The animals were so much fun. We will absolutely be returning!

Samantha G.

This place was amazing. It’s a beautiful farm situated in a lovely county. Our son loved the chickens and goats. We will come back and recommend this for anyone looking for an authentic farm stay experience.

Christian A.

Go back to a calm and gentle time of living in a log cabin. Your day will begin in a rocker on the porch and end sitting beside a fire. The Inn at Paradise Farm is a great place to relax and refresh.

Florine P.

Great experience! We had so much fun and the kids loved it. Unfettered access to the goats, sheep, and chickens made the experience so memorable. There were also beautiful walking paths. Kathe was so friendly and made the weekend that much better.

Beth F.

We had an amazing stay! The cabin is quaint and cozy and wonderful. Everything was clean. Amazing hospitality, adorable animals, beautiful surroundings. Definitely want to come back!

Cara Y.

We had a lovely time during our stay here. The cabin is beautiful, quiet and cozy, and close to a lot of fun things to do! We enjoyed hiking on the ice age trail, and having a fire in the wood stove in the evenings.

Korey V.

Coming to the Paradise Farm was like stepping back in time, but with all the amenities needed for a relaxing get away. My husband and I enjoyed walking the property’s trail as well as greeting the resident animals along the way. The farm house had every thing we needed and was warm, comfortable, neat and tidy. The location of the property was a perfect balance of being in the country, but only a quick drive into town. I would highly recommend.

Katherine P.

Paradise Farm is the perfect getaway! Cozy, peaceful, and packed full of thoughtful touches that made us all feel right at home.

Sasha W.

Lovely, peaceful stay. This was our second time, and was just as great as the first time a year ago! All the comforts of home, crackling fireplace, and lots of room for the kids to explore can be found here. It was a much needed break from 2020. We will be back for the third time!

Brittany Y.

We loved staying at Paradise Farm! It was just what we needed – a quick and easy getaway from the city. Bonus that we arrived just after the year’s first snow. Kathe was kind and knowledgeable, and the animals were so sweet. The cabin itself was cozy, spacious and clean. We loved the fireplace! And our son absolutely adored meeting and feeding the chickens and sheep. We will definitely be looking to return here for another stay.

Katya S.

This cabin is fantastic. Rustic, very well maintained, very clean, and all the amenities you’ll need. We had a very fun pandemic getaway with our 1-year-old. She loved the animals, and walking around the property is a real treat. The cabin is an amazing bit of history, built before statehood, and you feel like you’re stepping backwards in time when you walk in the front door. It’s really cool, and very cozy. The wood stove is fun, but not required for heat if that’s not your thing (there is central heat, which works well). The kitchen is small, but well-stocked and very functional… we cooked several big meals and had no issues. Plenty of hot water, comfortable bed, really nothing to complain about at all. If you’re reading this and the pandemic is still going on… this is a safe stay. The cabin is very clean, check-in is all contact-free. The only interaction is with the very friendly on-site host who will give you a “socially distant” tour of the property and introduce all the animals (sheep, goats, chickens, cats). It was all very pandemic-safe and a fun way to get away from home.

Jim V.

I had a wonderful stay at the cabin! It’s in such a pretty area and the farm is charming. I loved how cozy the cabin was, especially at night with the wood burning stove. It was so fun to meet all the animals and accompany Kathe to feed them, and I took some lovely snowy walks around the property. The Ice Age trail is also super close by so that made for pretty and convenient hiking. This was the perfect getaway in a winter wonderland, and I hope to come back soon!

Claire H.

Wonderful winter time stay! It was so much fun feeding the goats and sheep, walking around with the chickens and giving the barn cats some good pets. Hope to return in warmer weather and will recommend to friends. The cabin has a great story.

Sara H.

This was a stunning get away! The cabin is cozy and my girlfriend and I loved wandering around the farm and greeting the goats and sheep. Mary was a responsive host and Kathe (the caretaker) was great to chat with! I couldn’t recommend this place more!

Sadie H.

My boyfriend and I had a great weekend getaway here! Such a cute place if you enjoy the old cabin feel. We enjoyed learning more about the farm and meeting the animals with the caretaker, Kathe.

Bethany R.

We had an absolutely amazing weekend at Paradise Farm! Our kids fed the chickens and sheep, gathered eggs for breakfast, played with the cats, made s’mores on the campfire and.. saw two lambs being born!! Beautiful Ridge Run Park is around the corner and the farm from 1847 is the most cozy and comfortable place to stay.

Marco S.

We so enjoyed meeting all of the animals and exploring this beautiful space! Didn’t even leave the property for three days & had plenty to do & see. And the gorgeous eggs- such a lovely welcome treat! The cabin is so charming & I loved cooking in the tiny kitchen. Our toddler enjoyed the wooden blocks & being able to see the chickens & sheep in the morning. Cats are SO friendly!! Bed is very comfortable & bathroom has nice linens. It’s very clear the property, animals & people who visit are deeply cared for. Just a note: If you have a kiddo/ partner who is a light sleeper, be sure to bring your sound machine or ear plugs. Older spaces have creaks!

Jamie B.

We had a lovely weekend staying here. The indoor space was cozy and very clean. The outdoor space was beautiful. My kids really enjoyed feeding the farm animals and collecting eggs. We loved the freedom of walking out the front door and being in a beautiful natural space to explore. The hosts are so friendly and warm. We will definitely return.

Tracy S.

What a lovely rustic cabin. We enjoyed building a cozy fire and sitting out on the porch watching the chickens and listening to the birds. The kitchen is charming, especially with farm fresh eggs for breakfast. We’d definitely come back for another visit!

Kathleen S.

Paradise Farm was just fantastic. The historic split log house is pristine and did not disappoint. My nine-year old was up at 7:30 to do chores with Kathy the farmkeeper, and then had the run of the barnyard with its sweet, gentle goats and sheep. And you can not beat the fresh egg harvests! We went home with 2 dozen eggs ($4/doz) and couldn’t be happier. And the friendly barn kitties were a bonus. I highly recommend this for families with small children. My grandson had a blast.

Patricia D.

This cabin is something truly special. The history is timeless, a great lesson, and awe-inspiring. The land is gorgeous, filled with trails. The animals are so sweet, so fun to constantly visit and check in on. The chickens will even let you pet them and hold them! The whole experience is like traveling back in time in the best way possible. Kathe, the caretaker there, is so kind and knowledgeable. Life on the farm here is perfect and peaceful. We cannot wait to return.

Ashley H.

What a hidden gem! Few places you stay at begin as strangers and leaving as friends but this is the exception! My 3 kids and I stayed for a weekend to unwind and unplug. We played with curious chickens, the cutest baby goats and the friendliest cat! We met both the owners and the caretaker Kathe and were welcomed like family. We had expressed an interest in helping with farm chores and were soon put to work feeding the animals, stacking wood and cleaning pens. The kids loved helping out and Ioved taking pictures of it all. Memories that will last a lifetime for our family. Thank you! Can’t wait to see you again!

Tamara K.

What a fun place to slow life down a little. Farm fresh eggs for breakfast were a fantastic touch! Loved this place!

Ryan Z.

This place is truly better in person than the pictures show. Very peaceful and adorable location. The animals were a delight. One of the more affordable locations of its kind and one I would certainly make a return visit to.

Ashley M.

Oh wow, this place was a slice of peace that my husband and I needed on a short vacation! We picked this location because of its proximity to geocaching spots. I wish we stayed longer because of how wonderful the property, animals, and Kathe (the caretaker) are. I can’t wait to return to this slice of heaven on earth!

Emma J.

This was my third time back at Mary’s place. It is wonderful and cozy and quaint. As always, the farm stay caretaker Kathe was great and friendly and helpful. The animals were a blast, and the scenery was beautiful.

Cara Y.

Their place was so beautiful, historic, and clean! The chickens, cat, kittens, goats, baby goat kids, lambs and opportunities to do farm chores were so worthwhile and wonderful for our 3 kids. We will definitely return! The fresh eggs and hospitality were incredible too!

Tammy H.

We had the most wonderful stay at Paradise farm! Mary was so welcoming. The adults and the kids loved learning about and helping care for the animals. The home was clean and cozy, and we loved the delicious fresh eggs that were left in the fridge for us. Highly recommend a stay with Mary. We can’t wait to come back!

Ella B.

This place is awesome! Our 7 year old twins had a blast! Got to help feed the chickens and goats. It’s like staying at a petting zoo. The cabin is nice and was well stocked with blankets and pillows and towels and such. It was a great place to disconnect and unwind. Don’t let the small town fool you, though, there was plenty to do. Our family went to Shalom wildlife zoo during the day and Slinger super speedway for the night. Both were within a 15 minute drive.

Zach W.

Spent a magical few days with my 3 children. We all enjoyed helping with animal chores in the morning, sitting on the front porch watching a thunderstorm, wandering the grounds, and playing games in the evening. A peaceful escape and we can’t wait to come back again!

Erin S.

We had a marvelous time!! Great place for our 4 and 6 year old. They loved all the time with the sheep, goats, and Rosie the cat. Highly recommend!

Jessica V.

This was a perfect little getaway for me and my husband! Their caretaker, Kathe, gave us a quick tour of the property and was very helpful with any questions we had. If you enjoy the farmhouse feel this is the perfect place for you!

Katrina O.

wonderful and quaint farm! we loved our stay here! highly recommended!

Chris M.

We had a great time during our stay at the farm! Our kids LOVED the animals, (especially the cats, and baby goats!) and wanted to spend as much time with them as possible. We also enjoyed eating some fresh veggies from the garden, and fresh eggs for breakfast. Mary and Kathe were very friendly, helpful and responsive. We will definitely be planning another stay in the future!

Erik K.

Like other reviewers, I can say that you will be wowed by all the special added factors, like the animals and the garden, and the space, the cleanliness, the many details that make sure you have everything you need. This is a lovely place.

Shannon M.

We loved staying at Paradise Farm! We stayed for three nights and our kids (4 and 5) kept asking to extend our stay. We had fun with the farm chores, including petting the baby goats and feeding the chickens. We loved playing with the cats and walking around the property, too. We went swimming at Regner Park and hiked some of the Ice Age Trail. Kathe was so lovely and always available to answer questions or help. We loved our stay and will be back!!

Nicole M.
We booked a 2-day stay at Paradise Farm while in town for a wedding. Our stay was was too short! We loved the feel of living in what could be a museum. It’s decorated with special attention to detail and not kitschy. It’s stocked with coffee, tea and cocoa for cold nights in front of the wood stove. The linens were very nice—fluffy towels and high quality sheets—and the soaps extra good smelling. They thought of everything to make our stay feel extra special. Kathe who lives behind the cabin and is the farm caretaker, kindly let us in and offered morning farm tours and the resident kitty, Rosie greeted us each morning, letting us pet her as she rolled around in the drive. We really do wish we could have been there longer to take advantage of the walking trail and farm chores and were sad not to have time to eat the fresh eggs left for us in the fridge. We expected our stay to be nice, but this place absolutely bowled us over with its charm and comfort!
Daryl T.

What a great place. Very cozy and cute with room to spread out. Everything was just as described. Very accommodating.

Martin K.

Really enjoyed staying here! Would highly recommend to those looking for a relaxing stay close to hiking trails or to just unplug. The hosts Mary & Jim, and on-site caretaker Kathe, made the stay welcoming and hassle free. The farm animals are a friendly bonus.

Joe E.

What a darling place! We loved all of the new kittens and other animals. My daughters woke up extra early to make sure they didnt miss morning chores. Lots of thoughtful touches like Little House series books for my girls to enjoy and hot cocoa after a brisk walk for my son. A perfect amount of space for our family to enjoy and explore. Thank you!

Lauren B.

Perfect place to get away from it all. Secluded retreat with a short trip for necessities. Loved the animals. Caretaker on site and she is very kind and respectful. Fresh eggs are available for a small donation. The cabin is on an educational farm. Proceeds go toward the programs. This was our second time there and we will return again. If you like a warm cozy fire inside and the beauty of snow in the winter outside, this may just be what the doctor ordered. Plenty of outdoor space to roam if you like snowshoeing or just hiking. If you need television, you won’t find it here. If solitude, romance and quiet activities are what you need, you will have come to the right place.

Bonnie B.

The place is fantastic; a very quaint farm vibe but with all the amenities needed for comfort. The animals are friendly and adorable, even the chickens are nice!

Jessica L.

GREAT PLACE!! We loved the cabin and the uniqueness of this place. Getting to know the history and really appreciate what people had back in 1800s vs now. Just a lovely place. It is a great house to just unwind, drink your coffee in the AM, and see chickens outside of your windows. The lovely cats were so friendly we couldn’t get enough of them, and the caretaker Kathe was very helpful and always there for us. We loved it and hoping to go back soon for sure!

Kasha R.

Beautiful place and a lovely way to get away for a weekend for some peace and quiet. All the animals are adorable and we’re obsessed with them. We’ll have to come back when there are baby goats and sheep to play with! The wood-fired stove added a lovely layer of coziness to our already great stay, and Kathe was super communicative and helpful while we were there. Highly recommend!

Jonathan F.

We had an incredible getaway with our two kids at the farm. The place was extremely clean with everything we needed. Kathe was very patient and accommodating with our curious 5 year old during farm chores 🙂 We will be back!

Lindsay H.

My friend and I had such a lovely time at the farm. Kathe is delightful. She shared stories about the farm and the animals. We had a ton of fun getting to know the cats, sheep, goats, chickens, and Wanda the duck. The cabin is so cute and cozy. Loved having fresh eggs waiting for us in the fridge and everything we needed to build a fire in the wood stove. The beds were comfortable and the setting is beautiful. We definitely hope to come back to this very special spot.

Beth B.
Paradise Farm is all the name promises. The idyllic, educational working farm and historic lodgings are quaint, charming, and comfortable. We were giddy with our respite. Mary, our caring host, answered any and all questions prior to our trip and caretaker Kathe is so personable and knowledgeable. The cats, chickens, sheep, goats, and solo duck are so gentle to feed and pet. We were able to gather our own eggs – still warm – for breakfast! Though unseasonably cold for late March, we were super cozy and loved the wood-burning fireplace. We cannot wait to return in early June to see the baby animals! A great place to get away from it all and unplug (though there is wifi). The West Bend Area offers hiking, a wildlife zoo, and some great restaurants. Timmer’s Resort is a must for walleye.
Carolyn N.

We had a great time at the farmstay! We loved the space. The cabin is cozy and comfortable, and we felt right at home. Our little was very excited about feeding the animals. Kathe was helpful and informative. The area is pretty with nice parks to visit, and we saw wild turkey, deer, and cranes. Absolutely no complaints. We hope to visit again.

Derria B.

This place is a dream! Mary and Kathe were both great with communication and made me feel so welcome and at home! The animals all around, quick drive to get nice hikes, the charm of the absolutely stunning old building itself. Everything made for the most quaint and relaxing time. I couldn’t have timed my trip better, I got to see the sheep give birth to triplets! Such a magical moment. I look forward to coming back 🙂

Jillian P.
We had so much fun and wished we had more time to stay longer. They’ve done a great job restoring this incredible property. The farm animals are friendly and entertaining. Mary was very responsive, accommodating and flexible with our needs.
Caren O.
What a lovely property! It was perfect for a few nights to unplug and connect with nature. Definitely bring your mud boots so you can hang out with the animals as much as possible! I will definitely be back, with friends and with family!
Kay B.
Such a lovely stay. Kathe the caretaker was a wonderful host and went above and beyond in kindness and hospitality. We enjoyed her immensely. She showed my friend and I the grounds and educated us on homestead life and how to care for the animals. We loved it! The cabin is beautiful. It was built in the 1840’s with renovations and appliance updates. The wood burning stove was our favorite part and the kitchen is adorable. Quaint and simple. We had everything we needed and plenty of state parks and forest preserves to venture to. It is located off of a street so from time to time you will hear bikes or vehicles but it didn’t disrupt our sleep or our stay.
Frances K.

This place is a hidden gem. Not far from town, but it feels like country. Rustic, cozy, charming!

Terri R.

This is a perfect get away. We learned a little about a homesteading lifestyle, we relaxed, hung out with the animals, and enjoyed our time a lot! It’s a great location to head to downtown West Bend for the farmers market, or other fun things there. We also found our way to the Ice Age Trail, only about 1 mile away.

Lauren N.

We loved our stay at Paradise Farm. The log cabin was clean, quaint and quiet. The weather reached into the upper 90s this week, but the air conditioning unit in the bedroom kept the whole cabin comfortable. We can’t wait to return soon!

Carolyn S.

We had a great time staying at the farm. Kathe was great and my son really loved getting to do the farm chores. Thanks for a great stay!

Andrea W.

We really enjoyed our stay and plan to return next year at the same time if available. The history was an added bonus along with all the animals. Two thumbs up for the hosts as well.

Stephen P.

What a charming and peaceful stay at Paradise Farm. Great fun for all ages. There are goats, sheep, chickens to enjoy and help feed if you choose. Also fresh farm eggs offered and vegetables in the garden. There are acres of trails to explore. The farmhouse is clean and so quaint. It dates back to the 1847 and has all the conveniences for a very comfortable stay.

Cindy S.

There are goats!!!! I knew there were chickens but I forgot about the goats until I pulled it at 9pm and they were talking to me. It was great! We used this space as a bouncing off point for our wedding weekend and it could not have been better! We had an amazingly quiet morning, walking around, feeding chickens, petting goats and just walking together. It was a perfect way to connect before the chaos of the day.

Geri A.

Beautiful, rustic farmhouse! We loved our stay on the farm. It was very relaxing & we hope to make this an annual trip!

Mike B.

The farmhouse is a special place to stay. My husband and I enjoyed the property and the animals with all of their personalities so much. I would highly recommend others take advantage of a place that offers a uniquely relaxing retreat with so much character.

Pamela K.

This was one of the best Airbnb stays we’ve ever found! The cabin was so cozy and comfortable–the additions of the bathroom, kitchen, and bedroom have all the modern amenities you need while still feeling rustic and quaint. The animals were so fun (especially for our toddler who couldn’t get enough!). The grounds were beautiful with several paths to explore…we even stumbled upon a tire swing and play kitchen along one of the paths. I was uncertain of how private it would feel with the caretaker on site, but it still felt very private!

Liz B.

Our family absolutely loved our stay at the cabin/farm. The kids loved feeding the goats, we slept a few hours longer than usual for who knows what reason, and found ourselves in awe of the craftsmanship and history in the cabin. A beautiful drive minutes from everything you could need, but enough distance to feel away from it all.

Mark H.
What an amazing experience! We’d echo all the other reviews: Kathe is wonderful, the grounds are beautiful, the cabin is cozy, and the farm animals are a treat. We particularly enjoyed reading by the woodstove and going on a nighttime walk in the woods, enthusiastically accompanied by the cats! This place would be ideal for a solo stay, a couple’s getaway, or a family adventure. We will definitely be back!
Jack V.

This is an amazing place to stay! We were able to unplug and reconnect as a family. My 5 year old son really liked that he could help Kathe with chores and the cat escort as we walked the property and trails.

Susie H.

This place has something magic about it. It’s immensely special. Warm, cozy, uniquely serene. You will want to return to this place asap. I know I will be. Kathe was such an amazing host. She was so helpful and welcoming. An incredible paradise indeed.

Jimmy S.

We had a great time at Paradise Farm- loved interacting with the animals and exploring the beautiful property. The cabin is cozy and full of history. Highly recommend!

Serena V.

Again! Again!!! As “Kids” at heart 😁😉 we loved being included in the caring for the sheep, goats and kids-sitting in with and watching the baby goats imitate their momma was hilarious! So endearing when the rest of the “friends” (herd) came in to “check on “ us. Kathe is irreplaceable with wisdom, caring and knowledge. Cannot wait to come back this summer, fall and another winter visit.

Anna H.

We had a wonderful weekend stay at Paradise farm with our 8 and 5 year old sons. The cabin is warm, cozy, clean, comfortable beds and all the things you need to have an unplugged weekend. The boys loved playing outside in the snow with the cats and helping feed the chickens and goats/sheep. We can’t wait to return! Thank you so much!

Emma M.

I brought my the kids for a little relaxing vacation, and it was perfect. Playing with the animals and cuddling up inside as chickens and cats wandered outside was so nice. Great experience.

This is a special place. Rustic and historic but with everything you need to have a completely comfortable experience. The place is immaculate…crisp sheets, pristine towels, and shiny floors. The cottage was cozy and bright, with furnace heating and a wonderful log fireplace stove. The opportunity to engage with the cats, sheep, goats, and chickens was extraordinary. These are the gentlest, most socialized animals you’ll ever meet. The farm hosts a wonderful program for kids and parents so the animals are very used to hands-on love and care from kids. Kathe, the on-site property manager, was patient and kind with our daughter while she helped with morning animal chores, and my daughter is already asking to go back. We’re so grateful that Mary has preserved this piece of paradise and is sharing it with others. There are wonderful memories to be made here!

Paradise Farm was a beautiful and unique setting for our family getaway. Our two boys loved helping with the morning chores feeding the goats, sheep, chickens and cats. The farmhouse is cozy and charming. Mary and Kathe are responsive, helpful, and friendly. We can’t wait to come back!

We had such a wonderful time! The farmhouse is absolutely charming. Perfectly decorated to enhance the time period but with the comforts of modern living. It is quiet, peaceful and comfortable. Waking up to see hens, cats, sheep and even baby goats! was such a treat. Mary was a wonderful host getting back with questions quickly and cheerfully made accommodations for our late arrival. The caretaker, Kathe, was very friendly, also. Truly a beautiful, totally relaxing place to stay. Also has a supper club nearby.

This was a perfect location when my friends and I were in West Bend for a family reunion. We were delighted by this cozy cabin and it was so peaceful and unique. We couldn’t believe how old this house is (1847) so it had lots of charm and it was fun imagining who lived there over the years. We loved the chickens, kittens and goats too. Would definitely stay here again.

From an adult perspective, the stay was peaceful, the property was really nice to walk around, the cabin was clean and comfortable, and the coffee was easy to find. 😉 I also had two kids with me, ages 9 & 12. They LOVED the animals. The caretaker Kathe was so nice and sweet about showing them around, letting them help feed and water the animals, collect eggs and answering all their many, many questions. All the animals were very people friendly, and many would follow you around for attention and petting. They especially loved the three cats (who stay outside) and played with them every chance they got.

Honestly, a little slice of heaven. super quiet at night, beautiful grounds, the barn with goats and sheep and chickens, walking path through the woods, and of course the beautiful historic home. One of the best Airbnb experiences I’ve had, and I will certainly be back!

This is a total gem. We found it to be incredibly clean and comfortable. The host was responsive. Kathe was absolutely lovely. We really enjoyed interacting with the animals and she was quite friendly. Overall it was the most wonderful weekend and we have this airbnb to thank! We can’t wait to come back.

Had a great stay at Mary’s place and Kathe was a great host. Really enjoyed making our morning breakfasts with farm fresh eggs. We look forward to staying at Mary’s place again in the near future.

We had a wonderful weekend at Mary’s farm. She was very friendly, responsive and accommodating to our needs. We brought up the kayaks and spent some time at Big Cedar Lake, and biked through West Bend along the Milwaukee River. The animals were all so friendly and fun to be around. Would definitely recommend staying there if you love the outdoors, a great getaway from the city.

We stayed at the farm as we were visiting West Bend for a wedding. The farm is lovely and my kids loved feeding the goats and chickens. The accommodation is simple but just as described and we thought it was excellent value for money. A really different experience and we only wished we had more time to spend there.

Hannah S.

Kathe, the caretaker, took good care of us while we were there. Gave us a tour of everything when we got there, and introduced us to all of the very friendly animals (cats, goats, ducks, and chickens), all of which come running up to you when they see you. Kathe gave us fresh eggs and tomatoes our first day, and gave us extra firewood at night. Very nice experience, and this will be our go-to place when we return to West Bend in the future.

Mary’s farm is a magical place – one of our top two Airbnb stays! The on-site host was wonderful, as were all the friendly animals. Fresh eggs, fresh air, and an opportunity to relax in a serene setting! We didn’t want to leave.

Paradise Farm was a perfect base for my trip. The log house is special. Both the caretaker and Mary were terrific. Friendly animals and fall color and close to town.

Our family of three spent two nights at this beautiful farm. Our daughter loved the animals and was so happy she got to help feed them. We enjoyed the beautiful hiking areas nearby. The caretaker and Mary were great hosts, communicated promptly, and were very friendly and welcoming. It’s a great place and we definitely recommend it!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Farm! Kathe was so kind & helpful and she was very informative about the animals and the farm itself. The cabin was perfect! Quiet location and very cozy inside, complete with a wood burning stove/fireplace. The cabin is only 5 minutes away from all the amenities West Bend has to offer. It was great to look outside the window and see the chickens, ducks and cats all roaming around. We look forward to staying again!

What a lovely stay. Exactly as pictured. Very clean. Responsive and flexible hosts. We loved the animals and fresh eggs. The fireplace was perfect. Romantic. Would highly recommend. We hope to be back again! Thank you!

The cabin was magical. Even on the coldest nights of the year it was warm and cozy. The farm setting is beautiful and the snow made a majestic backdrop. Sitting around the fire was such a memorable experience. Everything was clean and comfortable. Mary made us feel at home. I hope to return in warm weather to enjoy some of the outdoor activities and sights.

The farmstay was truly a lovely place to get away to! We enjoyed the fire and ambiance, and loved looking out the window and seeing the chickens in the morning. The cabin was aesthetically so beautiful and stocked with everything we needed. Would definitely stay here again.

Pippin R.

This historic and lovely farmstay was a wonderful find! It is perfectly appointed for guest comfort. The beautiful location and resident animals add to the charm and uniqueness of this home and Kathe, the caretaker of the property and animals, could not be a better host.

Jan D.

It took us back to the farms we grew up on – simple and comfortable. We have been before, and will visit again. Kitchen had everything that we needed to cook breakfast, and we were happy to spend many hours here between doing things in West Bend and Port Washington. Lots of walking space and visiting the animals is always fun. Toys for kids to play with and a working fireplace insert kept us warm when we needed it. Come and visit the beautiful Kettle Moraine area.

Paradise Farm was well worth the price which was very reasonable. Kathe met us at check in and was so friendly and accommodating! We absolutely loved the farm! This is a definite gem of a find, and we all felt so blessed with the gift of staying for the week at such a beautiful place. I would most definitely recommend a stay for however long you are able be there for. You will not be disappointed!

This is our second stay at Mary’s place and it was just as great as the first, or even better, because we were able to stay longer. The house was clean and so cute and comfortable. I loved just hanging out in the peaceful surroundings and watching the chickens and ducks running around the grounds. Kathe, the caretaker on site, is a lovely woman who is responsive and great with kids as she shares with them the workings of the farm and its various animals.

The log cabin, from 1847, is charming and well-furnished. It felt so cozy but had tons of room! And it was very well furnished and equipped (kitchen supplies and linens). The adorable farm animals added to the appeal—but no animal noises impinged on our sleep in a comfortable bed. The wood-burning stove was easy to use and romantic—and the cabin has central heating and great hot water, so we stayed toasty. We also appreciated the variety of hot chocolate mixes—a nice treat. Mary’s place was the perfect jumping-off point for our hikes in the Kettle Moraine area. And it was close to town for restaurants—I would recommend The Social Good Brews for delicious coffee/pastry/quiche that also supports the community. Great getaway with excellent hosts. Hope to be back soon!
